Scope:

 

Electrical Contacts Limited is currently seeking to fill the role of Purchasing Clerk.  This is a full time permanent position.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for the effective procurement of all required materials, purchased items, projects and/or stock inventory within the company. This position also requires the candidate to build a positive relationship with vendors and suppliers. This interaction will be instrumental in the scheduling of deliveries, requests for expedites, resolving deliveries that are off schedule and possible material shortages. You will also be responsible for tracking the status of requisitions, orders and contracts and reviewing requisition orders to verify terminology, specifications and accuracy.  The Purchasing Clerk must also deal with reviewing and maintaining price lists, reports and purchasing files and inventory accuracy.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Adaptability to understanding of the companies operating, quality management system, health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs and ERP

  • Required skills for managing procurement operations, such as planning, organizing and communicating.

  • Able to demonstrate the ability to work and sustain in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to adjust and accept changes in direction and priorities and effectively respond to change.

  • Ensures a positive attitude and work environment for all employees, suppliers, subcontractors and visitors.

  • Must exhibit good judgement, ingenuity, and personal and professional integrity.

  • Secondary education or equivalent.

  • Experience in Purchasing

Engineering Sales Representative

 

The Engineering Sales Representative will act as the primary technical resource for the sales of Electrical Contacts Ltd products and services. The primary function of this role is to combine superior technical knowledge and sales skills to generate new opportunities to grow revenues as well as identifying new potential customers. The first year will consist of working closely with the Engineering Department in a technical capacity to gain the knowledge required to succeed in sales.

The Engineering Sales Representative will further work as a collaborative member of the team with the ability to communicate to internal team members, customer requirements and expectations.  This individual will liaison with the engineering, quality and sales team in the development of proposals and sample offerings. 

 

Requirements:

 

•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or post-secondary education in the field of mechanical engineer is strongly preferred

•3 - 5 years of previous technical sales experience in engineering.

•5 - 7 years of practical sales experience within the manufacturing sector.

•Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and negotiation skills.

•Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills.

•Ability to articulate complex technical information to customers.

•Demonstrated presentation skills.

•Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Automation Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

 

The Automation Engineer is responsible for developing, designing, fabricating, and implementing automation upgrades to existing equipment and new automation systems with in Electrical Contacts Limited. This role will include interacting on cross-functional teams, managing designated projects, collaboration with purchasing on costing, the responsibility of system concept/design, facilitating the build/fabrication process, facilitating the debugging process, and providing training to appropriate personnel.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Initiates, coordinates, directs and implements projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities. The scope of projects will vary from very small and simple systems to larger more complex systems utilizing advanced technologies including vision systems, robotics, servo drives, etc. Completed projects will results in the ongoing improvement to performance, productivity, quality, delivery, and value while providing an exceptional return on investment. 

 

 

 

· Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.

 

 

 

· Determine all costs related to completing the planned systems. This includes but is not limited to all purchased components, outside vendor charges, internal support costs, and installation costs.

 

 

 

· Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.

 

 

 

· Direct, review, and approve product design and changes.

 

 

 

· Develop and implement training, work instructions, standards, and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed by the department

 

 

 

· Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports and presentations, data analysis, cost analyses and justifications, layout drawings, and project scheduling.

 

 

 

· Research of and communications with suppliers of automation equipment

 

 

 

· Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to internal customers.

 

 

 

· To direct and coordinate the development of long and short range projects based on sound engineering and economic principles, to ensure assignments and projects are completed safely and efficiently.

 

 

 

· Provides technical oversight and coaching to department

 

 

 

· Monitors progress of projects and recommends allocation of resources as required to accomplish goals.

 

 

 

· Reviews inspection reports and assists in resolution of production related problems.

 

· Monitors engineering aspects of facility start-ups; ensures project start-up plans and required documentation are completed and coordinated with Operations and Maintenance Department personnel.

 

 

 

· Monitors expenditures after budget adoption.

 

 

 

· Follows all safety regulations and practices including but not limited to lockout/tag out and required personal protective equipment.

 

 

 

· Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of ECL, which includes but is not limited to following: policies, procedures, and ISO.

 

Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

 

Bachelor of Engineering degree in a related field required.

 

 

 

 · Minimum 5 years of Engineering experience which includes equipment/automation design, build, and/or project management

 

 

 

 

 

· PLC programming and wiring experience

 

 

 

· Working knowledge of 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred but not required)

 

 

 

· Basic machining and fabrication skills are preferred

 

 

 

· Robotic programming capabilities are preferred

 

 

 

· Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles

 

 

 

· P. Eng Designation strongly preferred

 

 

 

· Strong presentation, oratory, and verbal skills

 

 

 

· Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear manner

 

 

 

· Strong knowledge of safety requirements and codes related to automation

 

 

 

· Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, including executives
